l Greetings from the President

Greetings!
Thank you for visiting
the website of Catholic Medical Center (CMC)
of the Catholic University of Korea (CUK).
President of the Catholic Medical Center Lee Hwa_sung

Catholic Medical Center is a medial institution established with a mission to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who healed the sick with sheer compassion. Over the past 80 years, CMC has nurtured competent medical professionals and engaged in medical missions based on medical research and advancement. It currently has the largest medical network in Korea comprised of College of Medicine, College of Nursing and eight affiliated hospitals in major areas of the country including Seoul St. Mary's Hospital in the heart of the capital city. It is serving as an exemplary leader in the national healthcare industry.

At CMC, we are preparing to make a giant leap toward steadfast maintenance of our clear and distinct identity as a Catholic medical institution amidst the rapidly changing dynamics in the healthcare environment. Moreover, the construction of 60th Anniversary Memorial Medical Complex, ‘Omnibus Park’ is Korea’s largest construction project to date, is underway with the aim of creating a medical education and research hub in Banpo. By successfully expanding our infrastructure, we hope to further raise the standard of medical education and lead an innovative healthcare culture.

Despite our humble beginning with 15 medical staff and 24 hospital beds in 1936, we have grown to become an institution with the largest medical network in Korea. Throughout our 80-years of history, we were able to witness that practicing the art of medicine rooted in the Catholic faith can bear enormous fruits. We will continue to dedicate ourselves to practicing medicine with respect for life so that God may see our work and say that “it was good.”

I ask for your continued interest in and support for the Catholic Medical Center of the Catholic University of Korea.
Thank you.
